Orangeville Rail Trail

RKA led the full design, tender, and contract administration for a landmark 1.4 km trail corridor in Orangeville — the first phase of a transformative initiative converting the decommissioned Orangeville-Brampton Railway into a key active transportation spine connecting communities across the Town.

The design delivered a 3.0 m AODA-accessible asphalt trail with neighbourhood and commercial connections, an upgraded signalized road crossing with crossride markings, and a boardwalk engineered through a sensitive creek and regulated floodplain under Credit Valley Conservation Authority jurisdiction.

As lead consultant, RKA coordinated a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, fluvial geomorphologists, and ecologists through the full CVC permit process — delivering a trail that will serve the Orangeville community for generations.
